Baltimore Bird Fanciers
ASC Chapter 16
Baltimore, MD
15 October 2011
Two hundred and thirty-two American Singers kept Judge Steve Baptiste, 16 contestants and many visitors to the gallery thoroughly entertained at the Baltimore Bird Fanciers' 71st Annual Fall Bird Show.  Steve joyfully (and that's an apt description of Steve as a judge -- he absolutely relishes the opportunity to listen to American Singers) assessed 29 classes before selecting a young bird bred by Aji and Dodi Sunjaya as the best in show.   He followed that with both second and third places going to old birds bred by Mark Bange.  Tom and Celia Miller, Tad Rykojc, Paul and Cheryl Ferguson, and Saoud Rihan each placed birds in Judge Baptiste's top ten.

Tad Rykojc organized and classed the BBF field starting Friday night with help from Gino Salvi and Mark Bange.  Tad's job was more difficult than usual due to the large count.   He worked into the early hours of Saturday planning the additional classes to accomodate the full field of entries.  Jeanne Pieper served a hectic day as secretary and verified the placement of the top bench with the aid of a laptop computer and spreadsheet software.  Many people stewarded birds and Gino took the photos below that depict the good time that the BBF show always is.

We thank all who joined us as patricipants and visitors and encourage them to please come again not only to the BBF Annual Fall Show but to future ASC shows.

Next Saturday, 22 October, the ASC schedule finds many of us venturing to Parsippany, New Jersey for ASC Chapter 25's Double Show.  Check the
ASC Show Schedule for details and please join us there for another fun day of American Singer festivities, friendship and fun.
