Northern Ohio American Singer Club (Chapter 32) Sandusky, Ohio 8 October 2011

Steve Baptiste of Punta Gorda, FL won Chapter 32's Annual Song Trials for the second consecutive year besting a field of 174 birds brought by 14 contestants.  Dr. Anand Persad in his first assignment as an American Singer judge listened to 26 classes of birds, 14 young and 12 old.  He stated at the awards ceremony that he chose the birds that encompassed the best blend of the true American Singer heritage from Border and Roller canaries.  He did an outstanding job in selecting a top bench that included the following notable achievements: ** Roger Stroman of Vermillion, OH earned the 20th point for his bird R-078-06 to reach Grand Champion Status with his 6th place overall finish. ** Dr. Mark Guy of Pittsburgh, PA competing in his very first American Singer show won both the novice title and a seventh place finish overall on the top bench.  ** Judy Snider and Alberta Riedel from Chapter 22 in MI finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. ** MASCOT members Tom and Celia Miller, Tad Rykojc and Mark Bange each earned recognition on Chapter 32's top bench and rosettes for their birds.  Chapter 32 could not have been more accomodating to their visitors from MASCOT and other ASC chapters.  Special thanks go to Roger and Kathy Stroman, Anand Persad, the Bush brothers, Harrison Smith and everyone from Chapter 32 who helped to organize and run another fantastic ASC show.  Photos of the day along with the final standings, subject to ASC approval, follow:
