About Us
Since 1991, MASCOT, Chapter 28 of the American Singers Club (ASC), has promoted the American Singer hobby in Maryland and the surrounding states.  We are a vibrant and growing ASC Chapter engaged in the hobby of raising and exhibiting American Singer Canaries.  We presently have 25 members.

We host an
Annual Song Contest on the first Saturday of November.  Also, we sponsor several other social events during the year including a Picnic in June and a Holiday party in December.

The common thread that keeps us together is the American Singer canary.  Our members include some of the most successful and knowledgeable American Singer breeders in the country.

If you would like to learn more about American Singers or MASCOT please email us with your questions.  We encourage your interest and, of course, we welcome your membership into our club. We look forward to hearing from you.

Andre Dight Interviewed on Radio about Canaries

MASCOT Officer Andre Dight was recently interviewed on WMRA, National Public Radio in Virginia about his hobby of raising canaries.  Click
here to replay the program on WMRA's website. You'll also see a photo of his birds and a link to one of his singers.  We always knew Andre was a great ambassador for our hobby.  Now thousands of radio listeners know the same.  Thank you Andre for a job well done!

Further the Best Western will offer a special room rate to show attendees of $75 per night for all reservations made prior to 1 October 2013. Please call the hotel directly on 410-823-4410 and mention that you are attending the MASCOT show to get the special rate.  We'll post more information about the show as the year progresses.  Click here to see a summary of last year's event.

2013 Club Events Calendar

MASCOT has set its 2013 events calendar.  Click
here and mark your calendars to join us on these dates.  MASCOT events are always a good time for all.  We allocate a few minutes at most gatherings to discuss necessary business activities. But by far most of our time is spent on discussing our birds.  Our meetings are great places for American Singer hobbyists of all experience levels to learn more about canaries in general and American Singers specifically .  Please come and join the fun.  All members and guests are always welcome.
